However, recently a craze has begun and it has taken the tailgating and outdoor party world by storm. It has been credited with being started by a couple guys fom Portland, Oregon that happened to have both events at a house party. They had a slip and slide set up to cool off in between games of flip cup and beer pong, and from a simple backyard house party, a new drinking game was born.   It's been called a couple different names…

Welcome to the Morning Cup of Joe, a daily round-up of Penn State football news and nuggets from around the Internet. Coming off an exciting season opening win in Dublin, Penn State kicker Sam Ficken and wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton were recognized by the Big Ten in the first batch of weekly awards. Ficken was named the Big Ten’s special teams player of the week after successfully kicking all four of his field goal attempts against UCF, setting a career high. Hamilton shared the Big Ten freshman of the week honors with Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett. For a bit deeper analysis of…

Penn State’s flight home across the Atlantic Ocean was likely a smooth one. You can thank kicker Sam Ficken for that one. Ficken successfully kicked all four of his field goal attempts on the pitch in Dublin, Ireland, and Penn State needed every one of those 12 points to get past UCF in the Croke Park Classic. Ficken’s fourth field goal was a game-winning field goal as time expired in Croke Park, giving Penn State a thrilling 26-24 victory over the defending American Athletic Conference champions. Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg had a fine afternoon, setting a school…

Here is the rundown of what took place around the Big Ten on college football’s opening weekend. No. 13 LSU, No. 14 Wisconsin 24 (Houston) For a while it looked as though Wisconsin was going to score a huge win for the Big Ten, but eventually LSU took advantage of the Badgers losing two starting defensive linemen and stormed back from a 24-7 deficit in the third quarter to win by four. • Bama in the NFL: Tiders who made the 53-man rosters

    ITK
    1 Sep 2014 | 7:11 pm
The 53-man rosters are now complete, and heading into the 2014 season Alabama is again well represented. The biggest story of the new NFL year, at least as far as Alabama is concerend, is Vinnie Sunseri. Let me be the first to say it. I was wrong. I’m wrong a couple of times a year, and the Vinnie Sunseri story was one of those times. I thought him coming out for the 2014 draft was ridiculous, but apparently the New Orleans Saints didn’t. Sunseri joins New Orleans for the upcoming season, getting paid for playing a game. Way to go Vinnie. The oldest Alabama player on an active NFL…
  • Eyes On Auburn: Did the bag man lock the Arkansas coaches in an elevator at halftime?

You have to admit, it sounds fishy. It’s halftime in a game locked at 21 apiece, and four Arkansas assistants can’t make it to the Razorback locker room because they were locked in the pressbox elevator. A smart move if you’re an opposing coach playing at Auburn.Offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr., linebackers coach Randy Shannon and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings were all stuck in the Auburn University elevator at the half, preventing them from joining their team. They couldn’t confer with their players and coaches, as…

For the fifth time in the Nick Saban era at Alabama, the Crimson Tide took its show on the road…or more accurately, to a neutral site…to begin the 2014 season. Like all the others, Bama walked away from a dome with the win to begin the new season, leaving behind a few unknowns heading into 2014. The final score was 33-23, but how did the Tide really do? We’re glad you asked. The biggest question heading into the game was at quarterback. Most thought 5th year senior Blake Sims and newcomer Jacob Coker would split reps throughout the game. That didn’t prove to be the…

Wow. Texas A&M went out and offensively imposed their will on the South Carolina defense. Generally speaking, the Gamecocks have had a pretty good defense over the last few years but they just looked over-matched today. Were they not prepared, do they not have the players or was it just a bad match-up for the Gamecocks? Aggies QB Kenny Hill finished his debut throwing 44 of 60 passes for 511 yards and 3 TD. Malcome Kennedy caught 14 passes for 137 yards and three other receivers caught TD passes. Despite the loss of Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans and Ben Malena, the Aggies reloaded and…
